Exploring Windows Movie Maker

To put my sign off project together I will be working with Windows Movie Maker to achieve so. It is one of the best known movie making softwares that is available for free.

In today's post I'm going to describe my first experience with the software and share my thought about it

The first step that I have decided to do was to download a clip from the Film that I will be reviewing. This clip became my canvas that I decided to work on.

When I uploaded my clip many options came out on the screen. I could change the video clip colume, transform framing, change the transition, rotate the clip and click on ''more tools'' to go with editing even further. Naturally I clicked to see what else the software might offer to me.

By clicking on ''more tools'' I saw an option called ''Enhance Video''. This option allowed me to increase or lower vignette, contrast, brightness etc.
First I increased the contrast from 0.0 to 0.5 to make the clip more dark and expressive.

The second step was to add some ''sepia'' effect to make the clip look more like an old photograph. I was really happy with the results, I came to conclusion that these colour are more suitable for Jasmine's personality.

After putting ''sepia'' effect I also increased saturation from 0.0 to 0.4 and exposure from 0.0 to 0.3.
The result that I have been given was pretty satisfying.

After playing with colours and contrast and came back to the main site and went for the option called ''Transform''.

I could choose between so many framing options but finally I have chosen the one with the main clip in the middle and the background which was made from the frame of the first second of the clip. The background was blurry and as the result the main clip did not merge with it making it look more professional.

As the final step I have added the reference under the clip. Just to make sure that people would know about the original source of that fragment clip.

  1. My apologies you did add technical details - I looked at them backwards - ignore my comments on the other clip - Now you really need to actually start filming your film review
